A mobile technology executive, with over 25 years of experience, White joins Alcatel to drive growth and expand marketshare for North America’s fourth largest handset OEM
IRVINE, Calif. – November 17, 2016 – Alcatel – the fourth largest mobile phone manufacturer in North America – today announced that it has appointed Wayne White as Vice President of Sales for North America. White assumes responsibility for growing the Alcatel product family among carriers and expanding the company’s presence in the enterprise segment.
“TCT’s mobility business under the Alcatel brand has experienced tremendous growth over the past eight quarters, growing into one of the leading four mobile device manufacturers in our market,” said Steve Cistulli, President and General Manager for TCT, North America. “Continuing this growth requires us to have an industry veteran, with the leadership and experience that Wayne can bring to Alcatel, and at a time when we we’re looking at even greater business and brand growth in the years to come.”
White has more than 25 years of experience in sales and marketing, which will help Alcatel to continue capturing marketshare as the company introduces break-through smart devices for both consumers and business users, with innovative new products like the Alcatel IDOL 4S with Windows 10 smartphone. He joins Alcatel from Toronto-based Kobo, the largest global competitor to Amazon Kindle, where he served as Executive President Sales & Marketing. Prior to Kobo, White held various positions at Motorola, most recently serving as Corporate Vice President and Elected Officer responsible for global enterprise sales. He has also held positions at Verizon Wireless, AT&T Ameritech and General Electric.
White earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters of Science in Telecommunications from the University of Pittsburgh. He also holds a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from Case Western Reserve University.
